As an editor and motion graphic artist, I love plug-ins, and every once in a while (sometimes a long while) a plug-in pack comes along that either pushes the bounds of what we know a program can do, or it takes an existing idea and improves on it. Boris Continuum Complete 6 AE has done both of those. Let's find out how they have done it, and why you are going to want to either upgrade, or get this pack to add to your collection.
After looking at the Compositor’s Toolkit, I am a big fan of Digital Juice, and needless to say when they asked me if I wanted to take a look at their newest product, DJ Fonts Collection One (DJF), I jumped at the chance. I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this new product, as I really hadn’t heard anything about it, but I love surprises, so let’s see what Digital Juice has offered us this time!
For editors who purchase editing "bundles" like Final Cut Studio 2 or Adobe's Master Collection CS4, we normally have access to not only editing tools but a program like Compressor 3 or Adobe's Media Encoder CS4 that let us take files, and flip them over to other formats like MPEG2 for DVD, H264 for the web, Flash or even to other editing codecs (Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2, DVCProHD, etc). So why would an editor, or web designer need a program like Episode Pro? Let's find out!
I really like Magic Bullet Looks. I like it so much that I personally think that every editor should have it in their arsenal of plug-ins, but there is one little problem. In these difficult economic times, $399 might be a little out of some people’s reach. Thankfully, Red Giant Software has decided to give us a “light” version of Looks and called it, appropriately enough, Quick Looks (MBQL). Let’s see what Red Giant has done to make this plug-in worth your while.
MoreI have always been a fan of Zaxwerks' plug-ins, and after interviewing Zax Dow, and finding out that 3D Flag was available for FXPlug, I had to take a look at it. How good could a 3D Flag plug-in be, you ask? Just wait and see!
MoreThese days, companies are making big bucks by creating loopable backgrounds, packaging them together, and selling them for a pretty good penny. The problem with them is that you end up seeing them start to pop up in shows all over the place. broadcastGEMs has decided to do things a little differently, and instead of creating, marketing an selling backgrounds, they are creating After Effects projects that you can take and use the way they are, or alter them to create something new and different. Let’s see if this is worth your money.
